I never even considered applying to a sorority, but I did wind up in a fraternity, Sigma Tau, with later merged with Tau Beta Pi. In fact, six women in my class were invited to join. We didn't even know we were being inducted into the Sigma Tau fraternity until we were invited to a 'smoker,' and presented with cigars! One of the professors asked what I was going to do with it. He was honestly curious. I told him I was going to give it to my dad as a thank you for signing my college loans. All six of us graduated and went on to work in the nuclear engineering field.

I'm a gleefully retired nuclear engineer, wife, mother and (new) grandmother. We live in Arizona in a rural neighborhood. I retired early to write and travel.
