Shannon, this is a new observation for me. I'm hoping you'll write more articles on this aspect of being a single parent. Maybe if there were grants available for single moms or soon to be single moms, to provide a bootstrap out of poverty through training and basic living stipends, we could do a lot better for the next generation.
