Thank you for sharing. I get tired of being called 'white.' Or to identify myself as 'white' on forms. I try to use the least offensive term when I have to describe people of color, but it changes so fast I can't keep up. Have a talk with your professor--he's probably been told to use 'people of color,' and tell him your preference. Or take a class concensus!
