Years ago, I found my hair stylist in tears. She's worked so hard to save up a downpayment so they could buy a house--and her dickhead husband had gone down to the bank, had his name added to her savings account without her knowledge or permission, and cleaned out the account to buy a new shiny red motorcycle. If she took any action, the bank was going to charge her husband with felony theft. I told her to start a new savings account at a different bank in her maiden name, and get on birth control (fortunately they didn't have any kids) . If he won't go to counseling and pay the money back, move on.
